LUMbA: REDUX
LUMbA: REDUX is a bullet hell video game developed by Team Lumba. The game was released for Microsoft Windows on August 4, 2020, for Xbox One on January 10, 2023, and for Android phones on April 17th, 2023. The game is an overhaul of LUMbA Classic, redoing the animations, adding 7 additional chapters, rewriting the story, and adding gamepad support. It is the first game in the canon LUMbA timeline.
Description
LUMbA: REDUX is the enhanced version of LUMbA, a game you definitely haven't played. Follow the orders of Pal, your leader. Together you will take back what was lost and save the world from its destined downfall. Take a deep dive into the twisted minds of Lumba and Pal as they embark on their crusade, both with the shared goal of uprooting the evil that has plagued their world for too long.
Gameplay
LUMbA: REDUX is a top-down bullet hell shooter. The player controls Lumba with WASD or the D-pad and can shoot in multiple directions. The game is divided into multiple chapters, most of which contain a standard level and a boss fight.
Story
The game opens with Lumba waking up in an office room. Pal warns him that monsters have taken over the world, and orders Lumba to kill them all. Lumba kills all the monsters in the office before encountering Carl. Pal orders Lumba to kill Carl. After Carl is killed, Pal introduces himself as Lumba's ally. He warns Lumba of the monsters invading the city streets and orders him to purge them.
After killing all the monsters in the streets, Lumba enters a nightclub where he meets Needlar. Needlar insists that Lumba "needs" him, and references a substance that Lumba "can't go on without." Pal urges Lumba not to listen, and Lumba kills Needlar. After killing Needlar, Lumba gets knocked out by a group of monsters. He wakes up in a prison and fights his way out. Pal tells Lumba they are going back to "where it all started." They arrive at a trailer park, where Lumba encounters The Conceiver. In a flashback sequence, Lumba is seen getting abused by who is implied to be The Conceiver.
Pal orders Lumba to kill The Conceiver. After The Conceiver is killed, Lumba gets lost in a forest without Pal. Lumba fights his way through the forest before suddenly teleporting to a hellish biome. Lumba violently morphs into a beast, and he rampages through the monsters that are present in that area. Lumba enters a cave and finds The Amalgamation. Lumba kills it and finds Pal, who tells Lumba to go to a warehouse and get the cure to turn back to his normal form before he dies.
Lumba teleports into the warehouse and finds the cure. Outside, he is attacked by a large tank, which he destroys quickly. Pal tells Lumba to slay Yellherr and destroy the root.
Lumba kills Yellherr and finds the root, which is located in a house. Lumba gets in and finds that the root has a lack of security. Strangely, the creatures do not fight back, so Lumba kills all of them until he finds one last monster. Lumba tries to kill it, but it cries and begins to distort into the shape of a human woman. Lumba shows empathy and mercy, but Pal shows up and kills it.
A television screen illuminates, showcasing an emergency alert. It reveals that all this was an intense drug-induced experience attributed to a hallucinogenic substance known as "Lumba." The "monsters" were other humans fighting for their lives, and the monster Lumba spared was his wife.
Pal scolds Lumba for showing mercy and claims that they have corrupted Lumba. Pal turns into a huge beast with tentacles, and attacks Lumba. Lumba comes out victorious when Pal, in his normal formation, drops to his knees after Lumba defeats him. Lumba's head explodes, signifying that in his drug-induced state, he shot himself in the head.
The game ends with Lumba's corpse morphing into the shape of a human body, and Pal fades away from existence. Police sirens are heard in the background as the scene fades to black.

LUMbA: WORLD TOUR
Taking place after Lumba was knocked out by the monsters, Lumba has a bizarre dream where he goes on multiple vacations across the world. His first visit is to Hawaii, and he kills all monsters inhabiting it. Next, Lumba goes to Japan, and fights his way through it. Lumba enters an airplane and Pal reads the final stop on Lumba's list. He is outraged, as it says North Korea is their final stop. Pal begs Lumba to go somewhere else, but Lumba says nothing, and Pal reluctantly accompanies him. <be>
After escaping the North Korean government, they meet the supreme leader and kill him. Lumba wakes up in the prison, and Pal asks Lumba to remind him never to accompany him on one of his dreams again.
LUMbA STEALS CHRISTMAS
In a non-canon timeline, Lumba and Pal wake up in their house on Christmas morning. Pal is outraged to find that they received no presents this year, and orders Lumba to storm the North Pole and kill Santa.
Lumba fights through the North Pole and enters Santa's workshop. After killing everyone inside it, Lumba and Pal find a note that reads:

Pal realizes that Santa has been captured by Krampus, and tells Lumba to find Santa and save Christmas. Lumba and Pal enter Krampus' fortress and kill him. They free Santa, and have the following exchange:
| Pal: Jeez, you're fat. Santa: I will smite you down with a sledgehammer. Pal: I'm sorry. Santa: Anywho, since both of you saved me, you will be given a gift, shirts of yourself! Lumba: Wait, you're telling me that this entire DLC was simply a front for some souless advertisement to sell some subpar merchandise made by Cambodian child slaves? Santa: Isn't that what Christmas is all about? Lumba: No, it isn't, it's about ch- |
Before Lumba can finish his sentence, the screen cuts to an ad for LUMbA merch, featuring several images and a link to the store.
